no the first term we shall look at his his first play on words. :the chameleon. Now everyone knows that a mundane chameleon is a creature yhat changes color to match it's inviorment. in Xanth though... a chameleon will go ahead and revert to forms of dangerous creatures when threated but will remain harmless.
